164 Steering Alignment 140-160 1974

You should be able to center the steering wheel by taking the tie rods ends loose and adjusting each one accordingly to center up the wheel. This does assume the alignment is correct. As long as the turns on the tie rod ends are adjusted the same amount, you shouldn't need to worry about the alignment. I have had to do this on a couple of cars I owned.
