I was away on holiday for a while, but would have replied the same as what has been said in this thread. The steering wheel can't be repositioned, rather you have to disconnect it from the steering box and select the "best" spline position. My father owned my car since new, and after a while the steering wheel shifted a bit until straight is about 35 degrees on the wheel. He was told by the dealer that nothing can be done, and it is normal. They were just too lazy. Tomorrow I'm taking the 144 for a complete bushing (steering, front- and rear suspension) replacement, so this time the wheel will be centered. It has to do with the "roller and worm" in the steering box setting (or is it seating?).
Have fun...
