It's tough in a smaller country without an adequate choice of mechanics and with very high parts costs. That's when you have to get real creative and connect with fellow sufferers elsewhere. So it's nice that Jarrod sponsors Brickboard. It's also nice that many good parts suppliers will ship internationally.
By the way, no 940 has a "chip" that will affect overheating or any engine temperature. Nor does any later Volvo. Reprogramming the later cars might be needed for specific problems, but this can only be done by a dealer with access to the VADIS system. Sounds again like you were taken to the cleaners. Overheating in a 940 has other causes.
