You won't believe this but here goes....

Saw an add in paper for a 1987 Volvo $500.00 or best offer. I called and spoke to a "preacher" He said the car runs good but the body is not that great. The preacher man said it was donated to his church.

I then drove 30 miles to see this car. Upon arrival another young man let us test drive it. No tags at all we just went around the block in a speed zone of 15 mph. It seemed to run ok at that speed. All We wanted to know is if it smoked or had transmission problems.

We then went home called the preacher up and told him we wanted it but for $450.00 He accepted and delivered car the very next day to your home.(Please note that the preacher could only go 15 mph on a 30 mile trip) the preacher took the battery for he said it was his.

The preacher went on to give me the title that was in another mans name signed over. The preacher man gave me a bill of sale. I wrote him a check (not cashed as of yet)

Went and got a battery and the darn car wouldn't start. Weird thing is all these lights went on and off without the key in the ignition. A constant beep as well from the dash with a red light. We started to think the car was possessed.

So I am sitting there in the car baffled as to why there is power from battery to start the car. I look down and see a little black wire hanging from bottom of dash with a little button on it (Togo switch) I pushed it and it started.

Took the car to town and come to find out it would only go 15 MPH. Car died 7 times trying to get back home. (only two miles away) That's when I did research and found out that it maybe the fuel filter.

The car is drivable and is lisc. and insured in my name but yet I am out money that I spent to fix the darn thing. I am canceling the check to the preacher who had NO right to sell it to me. Car is legal to me but not to him. He had NO right to sell it to me and the owner already signed it over to me. Done deal.

What an ordeal.
