Don't know why that is... but my computer wouldn't allow me to reply to KLRs post...

Anyhow, congratulations! Sounds like a productive car weekend. Just over an hour, eh? THat's pretty damn good time for a transmission swap. Shayne must be pretty good.

The only thing I've got to comment on is the speaker magnet on the bottom of the transmission... I wouldn't recommemd that. If it collects some stuff (probably won't get much through the thick housing), and you kick up a rock that knocks that magnet off, all the collected bits inside come loose. You would be much better off with a magnetic drain plug... magnet on the inside. It will collect more..even a smaller weaker magnet, and when you remove the plug, you also remove whatever is stuck to it.

The drain plug in my parts M40 is magnetic... Don't know if that's stock or not. If yours doesn't have one, I'm sure they are available...

Granted, this ain't a big deal in a standard transmission... but I get calls about using magnets to stick on the oil pan of an engine in the same manner, and that could be disastrous if it gathered bits, got knocked off, and all them gathered bits go through an engine at once...

Happy motoring!
