It was many years ago replacing mine, but I remember it being an easy straight forward job. I started in the cabin, unthreading the original cable by simply crawling on my back and getting up into the instrument panel through the underdash. I don't recall having to remove anything for access other then the felt dressing in the leg well. After unthreading the old, I screwed on the new, then pushed the old cable through the firewall and then immediately pushed the new cable through the same hole. I then got into the engine bay and just followed the smae path the old cable took to the transmission. I then got under the car and unthreaded the old cable and screwed on the new. The job took less then an hour. 17yrs later the cable is still working.
