Synthetic oil. This oil has better volatility properties, does not break down into carbon, and is althogether cleaner throughout the engine. I have not had to clean a flame trap since using sythetics in my car. My 745 has over 160k miles, using sythetics for ten years, and the only time I cleaned the flame trap was when I first switched to synthetic oil ten years ago. Since then, nothing.
