My car had the earlier York compressor, with the PS pump mounted on top. I found the proper bracket for the PS pump w/out AC in a salvage yard and grabbed it. Note that you need the bracket section that attaches to the block as well as the smaller bracket pieces that bolt to the pump body (the tension adjustment brackets.) I took the PS pump off the top of the old AC bracket and pushed it out of the way. Disconnected the lines at the condenser, removed the accumulator, cut the lines where they entered the firewall. Removed the AC compressor (a couple of bolts, disconnected the turn-on wire.) Removed the AC/PS bracket and replaced with the PS only bracket. Installed proper brackets on PS pump and mounted it in place (Note - you could shorten the lines, but I just looped them out of the way.) Removed the condenser. Went inside the car, removed the evaporator and plumbing. Plugged the two big holes in the firewall. Removed the AC rotary switch from the dash.
A pretty simple task, once you locate the PS only bracketry. They are few and far between. I estimate ~40-50lbs were dropped, mostly from the driver-side front corner.
