buying a used fuel pump?

Nothing is for certain, but alot of the pumps last a long long time. There is a real good chance that you can find one that will last a long time. I wouldnt have a problem with putting a used pump on my car.

Ive driven volvos since about 1978 and ive only had one pump fail. That was an aftermarket pump that I put on because I replaced the stock pump thinking there was something wrong(the real problem was a faulty temp sensor). After the aftermarket pump failed, I put the original back on where it is still pumping merrily away(180,000 approx).

I did the same thing with another car recently, replacing the pump(used pump) in an attempt to cure a no start. The problem turned out to be a faulty computer. The original pump is on the shelf awaiting future duty, and the wrecking yard pump is on the car, pumping, pumping, pumping. No problem.
