Help! quick M46 Release bearing Question

I am replacing cluth/release bearing. When I pulled the fork off, there was a spring clip that came out. I didn't see exactly how it was placed.

It looks like the open hinge side goes in the open slot of the release fork, and the closed loop end goes under the release bearing?

Any body know what I'm talking about? I've got it up right now and I wanted to get it back together tonight!!
