cambelt change S90-V90

Robert
Theres been lots of messages posted about this proceedure and there is also stuff in the FAQ. Do a search or go back a few months and you will pick up on the pointers that most people have.

I general it is not a bad job to do and is not hard if you have done it once already. My contribution to the knowledge base is to make sure you get the engine aligned with the marks prior to removing the old belt. It helps to use some nail polish on the two camshaft marks and especially at the crankshaft. When I replaced the belt, I used plastic cable ties to secure the belt to the two camshaft pulleys and then routed it down to the crank and back around to water pump and idler. If it is the first belt change, probably nothing else needs to be changed. If it is the second(140K) then look to replace the tensioner and maybe the water pump proactively. Also replace the serpentine belt at each timing belt change too. I also found it helpful to remove the electric fan shroud and set it to the side for extra clearance. Good Luck.
