Hi guys,
As per my other thread the other day, I am removing the old headliner and replacing it with a fresh one from an IPD kit. I've got the sunroof already covered and installed, thanks to you guys at Brickboard, and the headliner shell has been repaired, reinforced, and convered, and is awaiting installation.
I'm having some problems with the sunroof, though:
1) In vent mode, the roof does not open as high as it did before the removal/repair/reinstallation. I thought the screws on the inner sides of the vent portion would adjust the height, but to no avail. Does anyone know the best and easiest way of making this adjustment? Also, one side of the rear rests slightly higher than the other, so I'd like to correct this, also. Keep in mind the fresh material is already on it, so I'd like to keep from ruining it. :^)
2) The roof doesn't slide back at all. My dad suspects the switch that's supposed to cut off is for some reason activated upon trying to move it back. There isn't any attempt by the motor to move against its will, so it seems more likely that it is indeed that switch. Not knowing where the switch is or how to adjust it, I'm stuck. The next question relates to the first...
3) When we bought the car some 6 or so years ago, the sunroof "worked." This is what I mean: When I pressed on the "up" button, the roof vent portion would open all the way and stop. When I pressed the "down" button, the vent would close and stop. Then when I pressed "down" again, the sunroof would slide back. Shortly thereafter, that was never so: if the vent was open and I pressed "down," the vent would close and immediately proceed to slide the sunroof back, and vice versa. It wasn't that much of a problem, but if possible, I'd like to fix that now, as well. Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?
I apologize once more for a long post, but I promise this will be the last one! ;-)
Thanks in advance!
Henry
