740 shuts off sometimes. == ignition switch

The tachometer sticks a bit (or is that part of the hall-effect sensor problem?) so I don't know if I can count on it or not. I think it could be related to the ignition switch. The switch is flaky, requiring jiggling of the key to start sometimes. On occasion it stays at the III setting and the starter will continue to run. A few times the car is running but the ignition switch thinks it's off. (no headlights, radio, power windows, etc...) Jiggling the switch fixes that too.

How hard is it to install a new switch? I'd prefer to have it keyed to match the other locks, and the pile of keys the PO gave me.

Thanks so much
