I read in the FAQs of an ingenius way to check for spark coming by using a neon bulb simply wrapped around a spark plug wire. The light will flash, everytime the spark is sent forth

My question is will this not interfere with normal spark delivery?
could i hook this sort of a system up permanently to my car without messing anything up?
