EGR is just short for Exhuast Gas Reciculation or PCV Positive Crankcase ventalation. You have a flame trap yes this is your egr system on the volvo it could also be called a pcv system just depends on who you are talking to all it does it recirculate the positive gases back into the intake manifold to be burned,
