Definately check/clean the oil trap, and a treatment with auto rx ( I have no connection with those folks except so far I've had unbelievable success with it) is probably a good idea. I've managed to avoid a number of major seal repairs on mine and customer cars with that stuff, and it does wonders for unsticking rings. It's costy, but it really works.
