91 744 AW70: Radiator fittings.

Hello,
While replacing a the high pressure power steering hose on my 71 744 this weekend, i ruptured one of the lines that run from my AW70 tranny to the radiator. They both were corroded quite bad near where they crossed the exhaust. The dealer wants $54/each CDN, but I can have new ones made a local shop for a fraction. The problem is that i broke off one of the fittings. The dealer said they can get a fitting (not listed for the 740, but the parts guys is quite sure its the same for the 240, and the part is listed for the 240), but it would take up to 10 days to come in. The guys at the shop that will make me the line don't know if they will be able to track a fitting down. Does anyone know what these fittings are called, would the thread type have a name?

Do i really need this cooling system? I thought that trannys only really needed cooling systems if you were pulling trailers etc. This car is a second vehicle, the most it ever pulls is a couple of dogs in the back seat and a mountain bike on the roof :-).

Thanks in advance,
EM
