If you're in the U.S. then 240s didn't have carbs. If you're in Canda, then '84 was the last year for carbs. I think Europe and Australia ended before '89. So are you sure you have a carb?

1980 245 Canadian B21A with SU carb and M46 trans

Well, Okay, then I do not have a carb. I guess it is fuel injected, but I had no idea it was if it is. It is a 1989 240 DL. That I do know.
