I tend to agree. When my mechanic rebuilt my '91 B230FT at just over 260K km (~163K mi) he said he did not see any wear of concequence anywhere in the bottom end of the engine. I had only had the car for ~20K km and I'm pretty sure the previous owners didn't take the best care of it (like 5-10K mi between oil changes). So, I'd say the bearings in a well maintained B230FT at that mileage should be just fine. I had my engine rebuilt because of leaking seals and pronounced piston slap, I'm pretty sure it would still be going just fine now if I had just have replaced the headgasket and some other leaking seals....
