Fitting a/c

Volvo does make a/c kits for the cars. Check with your local retailer or write the factory. I know I've seen them on eBay so times. If you've got wrecking yards there it shouldn't be to hard to get the parts. I posted a diagram of the pre 91 system and the post 91 system somewhere on this board's images. Your going to need a compressor, now usually a Sanden SD508 or SD510, these can be gotten on Ebay for between $50 US to $300US. Then you'll need a bracket from a wreck or else have to purchase it from Volvo or one of the recyclers such as Hirsch Industries. If you comb the eBay and the Junk Yard sites and start making calls you can round up the rest of the items. The thermal switch, evaporator (sits behind the heater unit inside the car), the hoses, the drier, and the condensor (sits in from of the grill). Sounds difficult, but it really isn't until you go assembly the unit ... then you'll need someone with a/c knowledge and tools to install the parts (really not hard when you know where they go), wire everthing up and make sure the circuitry is functioning, evacuate the unit of all moisture and see if it holds vacuum, and then to charge the unit with R12 or R134a. See if you can find an independent Volvo guy in Spain with access to a bone yard. He can probably cobble you up a unit in no time.
