testing new (used) fuel pump

I would be careful testing the pump dry. The fuel acts as a lubricant and coolant for the pump. It might be ok to put a couple of teaspoons of 2 cycle oil in the inlet of the pump for a short run test. Run the test in a bucket or paper bag to keep dry.
