Most 240's I've had and have heard start take 3-5 cranks when cold, and 1-2 when warm. Not nearly as fast as my old Toyota :|

If your starter turns over slower than you think it should, try switching out the battery with another car's and see if it turns over faster with a newer/different battery - it could just be a low battery causing it to turn over slowly. Also, if you know or see anyone in the area with a 240, you could ask nicely to hear them start the car :)
