how about once the panels are removed/ i'm assuming the window crank.. 1973

I would guess that the tracks themselves are worn, felt missing, etc. They
are what guides the glass and holds it in place. The regulator just pushes
it up and pulls it down. Some of the stuff is available through Volvo channels
and much of the guide stuff is available through Restoration Specialties in
Windber, PA. You do have to have a pretty good grip on exactly what you need,
though. This is not one of those deals where you buy a bunch of stuff before
you take it apart.
