no start after harmonic balancer failure 700 1990

My daughter was driving our 740 gle 16 valve and she said the car got slower and slower ,all the lights went on (dash) and the temp gauge was to the right. I found the belt off of the alt, p/s, and the crank pulley so loose I could turn it with my hand. It was cool when I got there and it wanted to start but did not. The engine would turn over, it would start to fire then the starter would pull out and it would die. The timing belt looked good. I would think it would start even with all the accessory belts off. Any help would be appreciated. Joe 745 '90 145k
