QUIET CLUNK WHEN I STOP 700 1986

Both of the 740's at our house started to do that when the front end strut rod cone bushings were worn out. (Where they attach to the lower control arms.) The opposite (aft) ends of the rods are anchored to chassis hard points roughly under the driver's and front passenger's feet and I think can sort of transfer some of the "clunk" to the undercarriage and be felt threw the floor.

Then again, it could be that bottle of Wild Turkey rolling around behind the driver's seat.
