Are you talking about the tensioner arm? How did you snap that?
In almost 40 years of driving Volvos I've had more trouble with what
the arm hooked to (bolts, bolt holes, generator/alternator end plates, etc)
than I have with the arms themselves. Never seen a broken one.

Can you weld it back together? Or maybe just make one from steel flat?
I may spend some time out in the garage on Monday, and I'll keep my eye
open for one.
