ambient temp sensor on 94 940T wagon

It sounds as if the sensor is missing, unplugged, wire broken or just bad, when that happens it defaults to the highest possible reading. It will be located driver side under/behind the front bumper mounted to the plastic air dam. It is just a small black plastic round device with 2 wires to it. Best source is a junk yard.

It could also have come unplugged behind the instrument cluster or some "mechanic" failed to plug it in during previous repairs.
