Twin Cities - beware of Smith Imports

I never do this! But I am quite frustrated and getting madder by the week. I brought my 780 to Smith Imports in Hopkins last May, complaining about leaks all over my driveway. Two weeks later, a rear main seal replaced and I got the car back -$750! A week later, a hose broke and I had coolant all over my driveway and gutter - towed to Smith on June 12. I also needed brake work done and the header down pipe was cracked. It is now September 10 and the car is still there. The ebrakes don't work and the header pipe replacement leaked worse than before. Besides, it still leaks fluid out of the bell housing!

Before you go to Smith Imports with your car, beware: The man does not communicate. He has too much work and not enough qualified mechanics. He charges $88/hour real time, not pro rated like a dealer. He doesn't call with updates, unless there is an additional item to be fixed. The ebrakes were "fixed" two weeks ago, but didn't work when I parked in my driveway, so no one checked out the car before letting me have it back for one day.

If you are looking for an indy, try Jeff's down the street. He does 200 and 700 Volvo's, but not the newer ones like 850s.
