Sheet metal 120-130

Mike

I bought rear floor wells for my 64 220 from Olof At Vintage Import Parts in Canada. They are first rate stampings. They are pressed from an oxide coated mild steel. The metal appears to be AK (aluminum killed) steel which is ideal for panel replacement due to it's ductiliity and ease of forming during installation. All the proper installation flanges are formed in place with plenty of margin to work with and they have all the proper pressed in stiffening dimples to ensure a really original look.

The body guy I have talked to said they are very nice panels and due to their correctness should reduce installation cost because he will not have to "fight them".

Mine are the full depth panels and they cost about $140.00 apiece but should result in a much nicer final result. My understanding is the fronts are just as nice. Front's, as I recall are about $80.00 or so. Olof had them to me, all the way from Sweden, in less than three weeks.

Joe at Swedish Treasures can help you with these too.

Check out Phil's article on the resto of his lovely sedan at VClassics and I think you will see that a little extra cash up from for the right parts is money well spent. He did not have access to the panels I got at the time he did his car and the cost was quite high due to the many hours required to have custom footwells hand made. He posted a while back that neither he (or probably we) really want to know what it cost in the end to replace those footwells the hard way. As Steve Berry says "eat the receipts!"

I will post pix tonite.

Cheers
