91 240 Battery dead 200

Last week my 240's warning lights all stayed on dimmly. It still ran great until today when the battery was dead. If it's the altenator how much can I expect to pay to have it replaced? I don't want to get ripped off. Could a place like goodyear or firestone handle it? Thanks in advance
