I'd also like to throw in a question for my climate as well while we're on the subject...

I live in the rainy northwest. Temperatures here are best described as temperate. We don't experience very cold, cold winters and snow very much at all. During the summer it gets hot, but it's not unbearable and the height of it only last for maybe a month during the summer in the 90's.

I've been using just plain 30W. Do y'all think this is OK? What was the original recommended oil weight from Volvo?
