Central Locking system 200 1987

While inside the driver side door to get to the window regulator, I tinkered around with the connections to the central lock--not knowing at the time what it was or that the car even had such a system.

To my surprise, the next time I locked the car with the key, I heard a chorus of locks--including the trunk, which I had up to that point been locked out of.

So try going through the connections, disconnecting, reconnecting where you can and generally doing a basic snug up. It can't hurt, and if you're lucky like I was, you might hit paydirt. Worst case scenario is you may learn something else about something else.
