DOWN PIPE REMOVAL ? PLEASE HELP 200

I did (or at least tried) mine a week ago. Here is what I ran into.

1. I have access to a lift so mine was fairly easy in that regard.

2. The nuts to the manifold came off easy. I went to the dealer for new nuts. Very pricey!!!!! I think 8 bucks a piece. I went to a local exhaust shop and got some.

3. The 3 nuts at the converter were a major PITA. One came off easy the other two I had to get creative. A nut splitter didn't work at all...an hour later, I ended up using an air hammer with a chisel fitting. That worked like a charm.

4. I agree with the other poster. You are going to need to get it up in the air pretty far.

5. The last thing after I did all of this....The new pipe from FCP Groton didn't fit.........By this time I have a few choice words to say.

Try to dry fit yours first. I sent mine back, and I ended up with a Volvo pipe from FCP. go figure.

Good luck,
Trevin
