I dont know what DMV is, anyway the chassisno. gives you the exact answer to year-model.

'66 model chassisno. 16501 - 21000
'67 model chsssicno. 21001 - 25500

If you are sure that the trims haven't been changed on your car, it is a '66 model.
Another thing that defines the modelyear is rear suspension and axel-mount.

'66 model has the type of arms (holding rearaxel) like it grips around it
'67 model has the type of arms that looks like a big bone with a big bushing at the axel.
