first coil is main coil and powers IAC,AMM,injector relay etc. second coil is grounded by ecu when it senses pulse from flywheel/hall sensor and starts fuel pumps.
Try removeing fuses to see if you can isolate which circuit is blowing main fuse. Could be shorted harness wires given age.
