I concur. If you changed the cam, you pulled the distributor/oil pump drive shaft. It's not uncommon on infrequent reassembly to get this relationship 180º off. If as George suspects, you're 180º off, you can rotate the distributor, which looks kinda dorky, or pull the shaft and rotate it 180º.
I'm in NYC and would offer to come out and share my experience/lend a hand, and I would love to see the 210 your wife gave you! I also have a yet to be installed volvo electronic ignition setup, and could benefit from your having been through this.
