It's hard to understand your message exactly
but from the details you provided I would guess that your tranny is
shifting too late, in other words ... taking too long to get to the proper
gear...
if this is true than I would also guess that your kickdown cable is not
functioning properly (probably the outer sheathing has broken loose near the
throttle... this causes the kickdown cable to be incapable of proper adjustment.
I just replaced my kickdown cable so I know about that particular problem...
try going through the process to adjust the kickdown cable (see the 700/900 FAQ section for the process). While you're doing that you will see if your cable is bad and needs replaced.
