68 SU Question? 1800

Howard;

Hot starting and starting after hot soak especially ALWAYS requires the "Standard Hot Start Procedure": (Never use choke), floor the throttle *, leave it there, while cranking until it starts **, then blip the throttle a couple of times, it should settle down to a decent idle at that point.

If your mixture is set rich to compensate for false air coming past worn throttle shafts, its worse.

* breathing cool, lean air for a moment seems to be the key...
** while resisting the urge to twist the key off, the longer it takes...start button upgrade prevents this!

Cheers
