Short answer: No. (you did not ruin your engine)

The rest of the problem: You may be a tooth or so off. This won't hurt anything, but it won't run right. You noticed.

Face it, Buck, the B2xxx is so tough that it may take more than one problem to stall it out. Make sure that you have the timing right There are at least three things to get wrong. If it runs at all, you are out of the woods.
