92 240 electrical problem 1992

I'm looking at a 92 240 for my daughter's first car. The car has an electrical problem that seems odd to me.

At night the headlights work, the brake lights work, but I have no dash or instrument lights and no tail lights.

Any thoughts where to start looking?
