Ron,
It was a combination of condition 1 and condition 2.
That is, when I was finally able to fit the torque wrench in the wheel well and was applying the same torque to the bleeder nipple that I would to a head bolt, it broke right off.
Just kidding, duh. I’ll keep doing my own mechanicking, thank you very much.
