Yeah, man! I am victim of the same mindset, When you get down to it, condensors are amazingly reliable. I haven't seen one go bad in over 30 years. You... one! It's a Murphy thing, mostly!
Nasty as in crackling and popping and moderate surging. Every so often it will clear a little and really go. Hard starting in the A.M. on the last few cold days just reinforces the thought that lack of fire is the culprit. Condensor and coil as needed today.
My little Volvo sure has a game leg right now.
Pulled the grosejets out last night an put standard viton tipped needles and seats and modern poly floats in the float bowls with the thought that the grosejets were hanging open and flooding the jets. No effect.
