As a volvo owner - ANDS a locksmith
A good many locksmith shops have the same code books the dealers have.
A locksmith shop can also "read" your existing duplicate key, then use their key punch tool and cut a new key - it should work perfect. This is a less costly solution than heading to the dealer.
Do not waste your time on hardware store duplicator cutters - even retail automotive stores that cut keys - they use untrained staff - with no locksmithing ability.
The risk of a "near" fit key - you increase the wear on the inner parts of your lock sylinder - so the few pennies you save on cutting that key will pale when your ignition cylinder needs replacing...
The fact that your duplicate keys work if you pull them out a bit - indicates that the key cutter was slightly offf alignment when the keys were duplicated.
Also - when getting keys cut - make sure both sides work perfect - do not pay for near fitting keys.
Another tip - if a key ever breaks off in the lock - you can get it out with a dental pick - then take both pieces to a locksmith shop , and they will make a new key from that.
