This is true however I have often seen these systems used as stop gap measures to make up for other weaknesses in forced induction setups.

Yes it is often used in racecars however these cars aren't expected to run reliably day in day out without regular maintenance. If you are thinking of using water injection on a road car to increase boost then I would suggest you think again. Yes it is cheap, yes it will let you up the boost but I have never seen one of these setups last for the long run.

I have several friends that have tried these systems in various forced induction applications from a tiny turbo 3 cylinder motor to a big supercharged V8. But they have always ended up costing more than they are worth.

If you are building this system to save money then can I assume you would not spend the money to properly retune fuel or ignition timing? If so then you are really cruising for a wallet bruising.

I suggest you save your pennies for a proper turbo/intercooler setup on a properly built motor.

If you are still desperate to up your boost on the cheap then I have seen decompression plates used for a lot longer with less problems than water injection systems.

I would like to hear about what you are planning on using a water injection system on. Being in this section I assume it is onto a 140/160, I would like to see pics and more details if you have them.
