When I did that I did the throttle body cleaning, too. With the TB off, access to that sender, and the heater hose, and the oil box is greatly improved.
If your brick is a 1987 or older, you might consider installing the 1988+ type of PCV system. Takes a different oil box, hoses, and the other stuff. Makes flame trap service a 10-minute job. For me it's nice to not have scraped knuckles after service.
The ECT harness was tough to get off. Weak angle to get at it. Finally used a helper. The sender itself was easy. Once the threads are loose, it will come off with no wrench. Have the new one handy and also a padded paper towel. The swap cam be done with spilling of ten drops of coolant.
Good LUck,
Bob
