Micht be overly rich. 120-130 1967

It may be simply running too rich, which may prevent keep it under full temperature. In my experience these cars are more often over-rich than lean. It's alittle hard to tell, since they run pretty well even very rich. If you run it way rich, you soot up your plugs and eventually make it rough running.

Poor fuel flow caused by icing may have forced you to choke it out to get it started.

Are your chokes stuck closed?

Check you spark plugs to see if they're black. IF so, it's rich.
