Just goes to show you any moron can purchase an SUV, whether or not they can negotiate its weight and sloppy driving characteristics is another thing. My guess is that the majority of the Suv's on the side of the road were pioloted by fat-headed soccermom female types who don't understand anything about driving. You know the ones. I'm sure Ill get a lot of grief about this but just because you paid (or rather your husband) 40k for the damned thing doesn't mean the elements and the laws of common sense do not affect the typical SUV moron driver. I have noticeed lately, as is evident by the recent election, that the majority of people cannot think for themselves.
This might seem an unfair or even ignorant thing to say but I know I am correct.
The other reason you might see more SUV's on the side of the road is probably the false sense of security they offer. Again the increased weight is an issue as well as the fact that its a huge V-8, RWD, top heavy, and usually in the hands of the average driver---who is you guessed it--- AVERAGE!!
