If a bad radio suppression relay doesn't shut off the fuel pumps, then what does it shut off?

I don't know about a '90 turbo, but I searched for a radio suppression relay on a friends '89 740 8 valve and it was not with the fan relay. In fact, I finally concluded it didn't have one. On my '91 740 Regina, the two black relays are together on the strut tower.
