It used to be that nylon cord tires developed flat spots from sitting, and rayon cord tires didn't. The nylon cord tires would "whump, whump, whump, etc" for about 5 minutes when you started driving. I can't stand that. Rayon cord tires were/are smooth from the start. My mother's 244 has some Sears tires on it that vibrate bad when you first start driving it.
