Basically you raise the car front as high as you safely can (or better use a pit) and remove the gearbox, which will be heavy so you need assistance or a good trolley jack to take the weight. Take care when removing the g/box not to let it hang on its input shaft. I can't remember the exact order of component removal but an inspection will reveal this e.g. starter motor, driveshaft, gearlever (stick US?) etc. Also, you have to be careful the dist. doesn't snag on the firewall.
